Brandon Jacobs is $10,000 poorer today. But he’s also recommitted to his future with the Giants.

The angry running back was fined that amount by the NFL for tossing his helmet into the stands in Indianapolis on Sunday night. He apologized again for that in a statement released by the team.

And in that statement he also insisted that he has no desire to be traded by the Giants. He told GM Jerry Reese and Coach Tom Coughlin that when he met with them on Monday – – a meeting that Jacobs said he did not request.

“I talked to Jerry and coach Coughlin yesterday,” Jacobs said in the statement. “Both of them asked to speak with me. I didn’t request a meeting with them. I have not demanded a trade and have no plans to demand a trade. The only demand I am making right now is of myself, to be the best player I can be and to help this team win.”

Jacbos did not address his hefty fine in that statement, but he did say “I want to apologize one more time for accidentally tossing my helmet in the stands. It was something that happened because I was frustrated with the game, and I had no business tossing my helmet in the first place, and I am thankful that nobody was hurt.”
