Indianapolis police have arrested Colts punter Pat McAfee after they found him swimming in a canal in a nightlife district. Police arrested McAfee at about 5 a.m. Wednesday in the Broad Ripple district and took him to an arrestee processing center.

Officers say the 23-year-old, in his second NFL season out of West Virginia, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 — nearly twice the legal limit.

McAfee admitted he had been drinking and asked if he could walk home, but officers arrested him instead. They say he smelled of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech slurred. He also informed them that his shirt was in the water.
