Former NBA All-Star Allen Iverson has scored 15 points in his debut for Besiktas Cola Turka but failed to carry his team to victory against Hemofarm Stada.
Hemofarm Stada defeated Besiktas 94-91 in a European Cup game on Tuesday in Istanbul. Turkish fans shouted “Allen Iverson, the son of Besiktas Cola Turka” during the match.
The 11-time NBA All-Star had agreed to a $4 million, two-year contract with Besiktas after no NBA team offered him a contract for the season.
Iverson is 17th on the NBA’s career scoring list with 24,368 points over a 14-year career with Philadelphia, Denver, Detroit and Memphis. He won the league’s Most Valuable Player award in 2001.

DAMN, A.I’s career is over..Seems like yesterday I was watchin him in ’96 at the rookie game schoolin’ Kobe..guess # 8 got the last laugh…Besiktas Cola Turka??? *Smh*
They play team ball in Europe. It’s nothing like the 1on1 league (officially called NBA). So what if he scored 15? There is not one NBA All Star that can go to Europe and put up 30 at will, simply because teams play team defense. The NBA lives off the golden generation of the 80’s an 90’s, but has long lost its respect. Those days are over. How can anyone compare today’s childish, video game playing, tattooed clowns with the likes of Magic, Bird, Jordan, Drexler, Ewing, Olajuwon, etc., etc.? Internationally, everybody knows that today’s NBA is all about its primitive light shows, pregame clowining, and those half naked hoes jumping around at half time. Any Turkish league game is more enjoyable than a nationally televised NBA game…it’s about the sport there, not the BS around it.
