As Of December 4th, GT5 was the No. 3 best-selling game in the world according to VGChartz, Just behind Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (PSP) and Wii Sports (Wii) and Sony announced this past Friday that it has sold over 5.5 million copies of Gran Turismo 5 in the game’s first 12 days of availability.
Sony also announced that its total sales for the Gran Turismo franchise have surpassed 60 million units worldwide.  GT5 game for Sony’s PlayStation 3 is the ninth installment in the wildly successful racing series, offering over 1,000 different karts and cars that are a stunning likeness to the actual vehicles they are modeled after.
