50 Cent Sued for Copyright!!

50 loves to stay in the news…

Young Caliber, an up-and-coming rapper out of Atlanta is suing 50 Cent, alleging that 50 had no claim to his “I Get Money” track as he purchased it from producer, Apex, before he recorded it. Young Caliber filed the copyright infringement lawsuit this morning and is seeking some serious damages from both 50 AND the producer AND Interscope Records AND its subsidiares. Young’s lawyer released a statement about the case this morning, saying:

“The misappropriation of copyright-protected material is an endemic problem in the music business, and particularly in the genre of hip-hop/rap. This is one such case. Our client was granted exclusive rights to the ‘I Get Money’ instrumental and was unceremoniously cut out of the loop when the defendants realized they had a huge hit on their hands.”

Copyright infringement is no joke, he could end up paying tons!!
