Last night it went down with Hot 97 x Funk Flex x Nicki Minaj and Fabolous at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx. True to Nicki form, she signed lots of BOOBS!! She also gave out signed Pillow Pets which was too funny! I actually was there last night at this ghettofied concert. Hot 97 was NOT in attendance, neither was Lloyd Banks or Fred Da Godson. Nicki was the first performer of the night (weird much?) and I must say that the crowd knew every word to her songs, screamed their heads off, and embraced Nicki despite the two hour wait. If you only knew the amount of people who left once her set was done. SMH. Poor Fab’s mic was awful while his DJ was way too damn loud. After Fab’s set, the concert was over. Paradise Theater is AWFUL! No liquor, no toilet tissue among the complaints. Props to Nicki for holding down a concert with no guest appearances though.

After dipping out on Christmas dinner and time with family, I have to say I was annoyed. While walking up the stairs it was clear that someone mistaked the staircase for a bathroom. Ok- I can get over it. It wasnt MSG after all. Then the concert started 2 hours late. Ok fine- I can get over that…CP time. Then there wasnt really a “show”. The artists were just walking back and forth and singing live. Perhaps this theater cant support lights, and a big screen, etc…but with all the technology out there I find that hard to believe. There could have been more talking to the audience, etc. Then Fabs mic was messed up for quite a number of songs. Most disappointing was not hearing/seeing Funk Flex talk mess and drop bombs or Lloyd perform Start it Up. I know it was Christmas and maybe they wanted to take it easy…I just wish they would have taken the time out to show up and give their fans a better show.
