A search is underway for a small airplane that vanished from radar over Colorado near the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The plane was leaving Phoenix and disappeared over the Blueberry Peak area, according to Lt. Col. Mike Daniels, a spokesman for the Colorado Civil Air Patrol.

“The Civil Air Patrol is unable to launch an airplane because of the weather, but we do have a ground team enroute to help the Custer County Sheriff’s office” with the search, Mayer said.

Prayers the plane is found and all are safe!
