Baltimore Ravens linebackerÂ Terrell Suggs did not need to say anything Wednesday about theÂ Steelers, because his T-shirt did the talking for him.
Suggs met reporters Wednesday wearing a T-shirt that featured a purple raven flipping the bird, and read “Hey Pittsburgh.”
As the team gets ready for the latest installment of one of the fiercest, most physical rivalries in the NFL, Suggs said his choice of wardrobe was not intended to send a message to the Steelers.
â€œNo, there ainâ€™t no message,â€ he said after Wednesdayâ€™s practice. â€œThey rep their city, and Iâ€™m repping mine. So here we go.â€
On Monday, Suggs billed the the AFC Divisional Playoff game as “World War III” and on Tuesday called it the real Super Bowl.
On Wednesday, the four-time Pro Bowl selection said he is not concerned with drawing the ire of fans at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field on Saturday afternoon.
“This game is going to be what it is regardless. Itâ€™s a physical dogfight, so I ainâ€™t expecting nothing different. And this is the shirt I wore this morning. This is just the shirt I chose.â€
Baltimore routed Kansas City, 30-7, on Sunday to advance to meet the Steelers for the third time this season.
Baltimore was victorious in Pittsburgh, 17-14, on Oct. 3, but Steelers quarterbackÂ Ben Roethlisberger did not play due to a suspension.
The Steelers avenged the defeat Dec. 5 in Baltimore, winning 13-10 after safetyÂ Troy Polamalu hit Ravens quarterbackÂ Joe Flacco, forcing a fumble that led to the decisive touchdown in the waning minutes.
