the fact that he would compare skin bleaching to getting a weave is ri damn diculous…you can take a weave out..bleaching your skin is a little more deeper then just adding a few pieces to your hair..you are clearly saying that your darkskin that you were born with is not good enough for who you think you are…this is 2011 why does it feel like we are going backwards into slave mentality light vs dark is so beyond wack and we cant blame white people for it..its our own people setting us back hundreds of years and what makes it really sad is the fact that these artists have such a major influence over masses of people….who in turn will believe that their darkskin is not beautiful…Vybz Kartel needs to get real I hope his face falls off!

i think everyone needs to get off his back about this and to everyone saying that he is a major influence on young people should feel mre confident in the way they raise there children so thay wont do the same. everyone is looking at it as controversial, but hes an artist, not a saint. if thats what he wanted to do…then tbats his life and his own decision. and in all reality, im sure everyone that is against him does something everyday to change their appearance, so why should it matter?? people wearin makeup. is a change, and he just did what he wanted. he is still black, regardless of the shade, and the ones who believe in their own eyes that to be lighter is better is being ridiculous, because that doesnt make a difference. if other people do it because they think that that is on them. a person is who they want to be, and all of us have something we would change if we got the money to….think about it….so i am 100% on his side and everyone needs to stop actin like its the end of the world. i mean let the man be who he wanna be… and to the ppl with kids focus on them more, and be more of a rolemodel, instead of blaming entertainers on their beliefs, you should enforce the morals. stop letting your kids idolize these people and be the one shining in their eyes…..
Slave mentality! Got no respect for those who are not proud to be Black. Can’t believe Vybz could seriously look in the mirror and think that what he has become looks good. He looks like a duppy. Vybz Kartel WAS one of my favourite artists and now I would run for my life if I came up against that face and can’t even bring myself to listen to his music with the same enjoyment. He calls himself the teacher, well he is lacking some serious lessons!
