Elliott Marx, 20, was allegedly hit as five police officers arrested him around 1 a.m. Saturday morning, the New York Daily News reports. The officers were responding to a parking lot brawl not far from the Rutgers campus.


(HP) – In the video, sophomore Marx can be seen face down on the ground, his white Nikes at times visible on the left-hand side of the screen. He is surrounded by a group of officers, one of whom shouts “Stop resisting! Give me your hand!” Another officer can be seen punching Marx.

According to the Associated Press, Marx, who allegedly jumped on an officer’s back during the altercation, faces three charges: resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and obstruction.
