Throughout the past six weeks, Jordan has made a significant impact in the school. We’ve refurbished six outdoor basketball courts at the school, four classrooms and contributed three new computer labs. We’ve also held an essay and T-shirt contest, and had members from the brand conduct a career day at the school.

Pro footballers LaMarr Woodley, Andre Johnson, Lawrence Jackson as well as Team Jordan Paralympian April Holmes were all in the building and took the mic to address the IHS students. They shared messages of hard work, dedicating yourself to your ultimate goal, and harnessing your own power to overcome the obstacles in your life.

Fresh off of having his stars-and-stripes Air Jordan 1’s put up for auction on Sole Collector, Dave White also took part in the assembly. While in L.A., White oversaw the student-creation of two Jordan-themed murals on the school grounds, and he gave the kids involved in the project props for their hard work.

The crowd soon turned into a frenzy as the Cali Swag District stormed the court and performed two tracks, including their smash hit “Teach Me How To Dougie” while rocking the brand new Air Jordan 2011.

As the pep-assembly was coming to an end, the administrators at Inglewood High School unveiled an honorary IHS Sentinel jersey with “Jordan” across the back. The jersey will hang in their gymnasium as a symbol of their appreciation to the brand’s contribution to their school.
