Nine teams will take another look at quarterback Cam Newton before next month’s NFL draft, a league source said.

Newton’s tentative schedule for the next month looks like this, according to the source:  The 6-foot-5, 248-pound Newton is scheduled to work out for the Miami Dolphins, who hold the 15th pick in the April 28-30 draft, on Sunday at Auburn University and then visit with the Buffalo Bills (No. 3 pick) in Buffalo the next day.

On Wednesday of next week, the Minnesota Vikings(No. 12 pick) are scheduled to work him out privately at Auburn.

Next Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals (No. 4 pick) are scheduled to visit with Newton at Auburn and then work him out on April 4. Newton then is scheduled to leave Auburn on April 5 to visit with the Carolina Panthers, who hold the top pick. On April 6, Newton is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Titans (No. 8 pick).

He then is scheduled for a brief break before visiting the Bengals in Cincinnati on April 12 — the team’s second scheduled visit with him. From Cincinnati, Newton is scheduled to travel to Cleveland to visit with the Browns (No. 6 pick) on April 13. Newton is scheduled to visit theRedskins (No. 10 pick) in Washington on April 15 and the Broncos (No. 2 pick) in Denver on April 18.

There were 125 NFL officials, including five head coaches, at Auburn’s 5½-hour pro day earlier this month. Unofficially, the Heisman-winning quarterback threw 53 passes with receivers running routes and completed 42 of them with a few drops and several overthrows, including a couple on deep sideline routes. He was 10-for-10 before that.
