Willard Boyle, the man who created the imaging technology behind everything from digital cameras to barcode scanners, has died at the age of 86. Hit the Jump for a list of his accomplishments.

In 2009 he won a Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing the CCD, which is what most Digital cameras use.
Boyle passed on May 7th in Wallace Canada, where he was born, after battling Kidney disease. Your Tech Will live on Mr. Boyle!!!
