Rapper T.I. can’t be outdoors enjoying this Memorial Day Weekend with his family, but he CAN help families enjoy their weekend with their loved ones that are behind bars. The ATL native had a charter bus named “To See a Love One†pick up families from both Atlanta and Alabama this weekend for visits to Forrest City Correctional Facility in Arkansas, where he’s currently serving an 11 month bid. Check out Tip’s statement to MTV after the jump.
“I’ve been blessed to receive tons and tons of mail from my fans, family and friends, as well as get visits on a regular basis. Unfortunately some guys aren’t as fortunate. There are a lot of good dudes in here that haven’t been able to see there loved ones in years. Their families can’t afford the trip so I wanted to help out.”
Very cool of T.I. to do! He is expected to return home this September.
