As of right now it looks like Apple will be getting an iCloud web portal.  Apple has recently published MobileMe transition FAQ . It explains that “web access to iCloud Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Find My iPhone will be available at icloud.com this fall.

There hasn’t been any new details on any of those services, while Apple did not want to share  the info at its Keynote could mean its not up to Apple standards of yet. The FAQ page also explains that those who had an active MobileMe account as of June 6th, 2011 saw a free extension of services through June 30th, 2012. Some key points:

  • If you have @me.com or @mac.com email addresses you’ll be able to move it over to iCloud once the service becomes available, along with associated mail, contacts, calendars and bookmarks.
  • MobileMe Gallery? MobileMe iDisk? They’re going to be deleted, so take Apple’s advice and save those files locally before June 30th, 2012.
  • iWeb publishing is going away as well on that date, so Apple has helpfully provided instructions for moving from iWeb hosting to your own host using FTP.
  • Syncing of Mac Dashboard widgets, keychains, Dock items, and System Preferences won’t be making the transition and will go away after you move to iCloud or after the June 30th cutoff — “whichever comes first.”
  • A prorated refund is available for those wishing to cancel MobileMe early, or for those who have an unactivated copy.
