Yikes. Of all things to say…they had to say that?! One of Fox News’ Twitter pages, FoxNewspolitics, tweeted to their 36k followers that President Obama had been shot twice and killed at an Iowa restaurant. And but of course that is NOT true. The assassination reports are false and were apparently sent out after Fox’s account was hacked. President Obama and his family are currently enjoying their July 4 at the White House.
Fox News alerted the Secret Service of the breach, and vice president and general manager of Fox News Digital Jeff Misenti said in a statement, “We will be requesting a detailed investigation from Twitter about how this occurred, and measures to prevent future unauthorized access into FoxNews.com accounts.â€
