Bubba Smith, a nine-year NFL veteran who’s perhaps just as well-known for his role in the Police Academy series of movies, died Wednesday in his Los Angeles home, according to reports. Smith, 66, was reportedly found at his home by a caretaker and is believed to have died of natural causes.   Check a clip of Bubba Smith in Policy Academy & couple other videos after the jump….

Smith played for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers, with his longest stint coming in Baltimore. He earned a Super Bowl ring, two Pro Bowl trips and an All-Pro award during his time with the Colts.

The Texas native, born Charles Aaron Smith, traveled to Michigan State for his college ball, which was impressive enough for him to make the College Football Hall of Fame. A two-time All-American, he helped lead the Spartans just shy of a national title.

His Hollywood career included a role on Married … With Children in addition to his famous Police Academy turn as Moses Hightower, a florist-turned-strongman.
