Retired quarterback Brett Favre quashed any rumors he may be thinking of a return to the NFL on Friday.

Favre, who had been linked to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, told the Miami Herald he isn’t planning anymore comebacks.

“I haven’t heard anything, and I don’t have any interest,” Favre, 41, told the Herald when tracked down in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Friday.

“You’re from Miami? Don’t you have anything better to do?”

The Dolphins signed veteran quarterback Kevin O’Connell on Friday. The Dolphins’ roster also includes Chad Henne and Matt Moore.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano fueled speculation Thursday when asked if he would “rule out any possibility of interest” in Favre.

“I can’t rule anything out. OK? So, I mean, we don’t rule anything out,” Sparano said. “I don’t know how you want me to answer that. That’ll be all over the news now too, but I’m giving you the only answer I can give you.”

An 11-time Pro Bowl selection, Favre retired in January after 20 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings.
