Dwight Howard was quite content with his seat along the inside of the fence at the West 4th Classic.  While other NBA players like leading scorer Kevin Durant, Brandon Jennings, Ron Artest and Michael Beasley, among others, have all graced the New York City streetball courts this summer, the Orlando Magic all-star center was happy just being a spectator for the league championship game Saturday night. “Nah, I just want to come out here and enjoy it,” Howard said when asked if he considered playing.

He walked in just before the start of the contest and settled in amongst the crowd. Howard, who would not talk about anything relating to the NBA lockout, signed autographs and took pictures with fans. Howard, dressed in an Adidas shirt and an Orlando Magic hat, was out to watch friend Gary Ervin try to lead United Brooklyn to a title over the favored X-Men. He said he was in Brooklyn on Friday and Harlem earlier Saturday.

“I’m loving it,” Howard said of watching live streetball action. “I watched it on TV. It’s different for me. I am just glad to be here. It’s a great experience coming out and seeing it”
