The Derek Jeter 3,000 hit lovefest continued this weekend as his New York Yankees teammates honored the Captain with a statue — of himself — before Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Commissioned by Jorge Posada and CC Sabathia, the 225-pound stainless steel sculpture is a likeness of Jeter waving his cap above a giant “3,000.” The Yankees also honored Jeter with crystal vase and other goodies on Saturday. Â Check it out after the jump…
