San Diego police have confirmed to ESPN that they are investigating an incident involving Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
According to multiple reports, Bryant was attending a service at a church in Carmel Valley, Calif., on Sunday when he thought someone was taking pictures of him with a cell phone. Bryant allegedly took the phone from the man, but when he didn’t see any pictures he left the church.
The man said he had to go to a hospital for treatment after his wrist was injured in the incident.
“Something occurred,” a San Diego police department spokesman told ESPN, “and [Bryant] was involved. The investigation is ongoing. We’re following up on the allegations and trying to sort it out.”
