Rodriguez has been out since July 7 because of surgery on his right knee, but he was ready to play Sunday.

“Thumbs up,” he said. “I’m great.”

After returning to the team on Thursday, Rodriguez worked out for three days to improve his conditioning.

Manager Joe Girardi inserted him into the lineup on Sunday for the series finale against the Minnesota Twins.

Rodriguez is hitting cleanup and playing third base.
