Dwyane Wade believes that the treatment the Miami Heat received last season was unfair. Wade told ESPN 540 that the team ultimately grew from the experience though.

“Obviously we went through a lot last year. It was unfair some of the stuff that we had to endure but we grew from it,” he said. “That’s over with. We move on to whenever we play basketball again and we will be a different team.”

“We love to hush everybody up and we were able to accomplish that all the way to the end of the year when we didn’t win,” Wade said. “Then they became right again.”

During the interview, Wade also touched on the topic of players going overseas in the event of the current lockout resulting in a cancelled NBA season. “If it’s a year lockout you’ve got a lot of guys not getting paid all season and have to find a way to make sure that they are the means to their family and find work,” Wade said. “If it’s going overseas to play then it’s going overseas to play for some guys.”

Wade has previously said he would consider playing overseas in the event of an extended lockout.
