Man’s best friend seems to have an appetite for a girl’s best friend.

A Georgia dog is being blamed for chowing down on $10,000 worth of diamonds at a jewelry store.

Honey Bun, a lovable pooch who lives and greets customers at John Ross Jewelers in Albany, was immediately suspected after a pack of loose diamonds went missing about two weeks ago, according to Georgia’s WALB.

The diamonds were sitting on a desk beside dog treats.

“A customer came in, and I jumped up out of my chair and came out here to wait on him. And I left the chair where you could jump up on my chair and jump up on my desk,” said co-owner Chuck Roberts.

Honey Bun was immediately taken to the doctor for X-rays, and sure enough, two suspicious looking spots – carbon cannot be detected on X-rays – were identified.

Thankfully, what goes in must come out. The diamonds were recovered by a brave soul who sifted through Fido’s waste product.

The diamonds were cleaned up and sent back to the supplier.
