This is a first for me. An Indianapolis woman was high off bath salts of all things and decided to go driving. After causing an accident and fleeing the scene she soon underwent a police chase before crashing into a boulder. Check out the full story on the chase after the jump.

An Indianapolis woman was reportedly under the influence of bath salts when she rear-ended another driver and sent cops on a wild car chase that ended with her crashing into a boulder and hitting several squad cars near Indiana Dunes State Park Tuesday.

According to the Northwest Indiana Times 29-year-old Britni Morrison rear-ended another driver at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday on Route 49 at Gateway Boulevard and shortly thereafter left the scene of the collision.

Police quickly located Morrison as she drove northbound on Route 49, weaving amongst traffic and driving into Indiana Dunes State Park in Chesterton, Ind., where she hit a large landscaping boulder.

Instead of ending her joyride, police said her car abruptly accelerated in reverse after stopping briefly. After she drove to a parking lot currently closed for construction, squad cars surrounded her. She collided with the cars multiple times and, by the time she was through resisting she was “incoherent, laughing uncontrollably and speaking nonsense,” according to the Chesterton Tribune.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that, after she was taken to Porter Hospital, she told doctors she had used “bath salts” about two hours before the incident. Morrison was then taken to Porter County Jail. She has been charged with one felony count of resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, plus several misdemeanor charges including operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a crime causing bodily injury, criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle and battery.

The other driver in the original rear-ending incident reportedly did not sustain any major injuries.
