Several people have reportedly been shot at an IHOP restaurant in Carson City, Nevada. At least eight people were shot by a suspect carrying a semi-automatic weapon just before 9:00 a.m. local time. Hit the jump to read the rest of the story.

Sheriff Kenny Furlong told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the suspect fired at restaurant customers before shooting himself. He said the shooter is not expected to survive, according to the newspaper.
Local and state police and FBI agents have descended on the scene on South Carson Street, also called U.S. 395, the main street in the state capital. Yellow tape surrounded the parking lot near a Kohl’s department store in a shopping complex across the street from a casino and hotel.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office reports that the IHOP is clear and the building is secure.
Some streets have been shut down because of the shooting.
