Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs said Thursday he will wear red, white and blue shoes and gloves to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 against Atlanta Sunday — and he does not care if the NFL fines him for wearing a non-sanctioned uniform.

In a series of tweets, Briggs pointed out that players were allowed to wear pink shoes and gloves as part of the league’s breast cancer awareness efforts.

“For the anniversary of 9/11 game why is it if I wear shoes and gloves that are the colors of r nations flag..I will be fined by the league?” Briggs wrote.

“By far the best fine I will ever have to pay,” he posted later.

The NFL has strict rules prohibiting players from wearing non-approved colors on their uniforms.
