Tom Brady said none of the ex-Patriots criticizing Chad Ochocinco has “any clue what they’re talking about” during an appearance Monday on WEEI Radio.

The quarterback was quizzed about recent comments from former New England linebacker Tedy Bruschi — who attacked Ochocinco for tweeting his “awe” at the Patriots’ offense — and former safety Rodney Harrison, who labeled the wide receiver’s Week 1 performance “unacceptable.”

Brady said he loved and respected his old teammates but launched a strong defense of his current playing partner.

“None of those guys [has] any clue what they’re talking about,” Brady said. “They’re outside. They’re outside of the locker room. They don’t know what we’re trying to accomplish.”

He said Ochocinco’s performance in Sunday’s 35-21 victory over the San Diego Chargers at Gillette Stadium gave his doubters a perfect example of his value to the team.

“Anyone who was watching that game knew that Chad … helped us win,” Brady said. “He made two huge plays in the game.”

Brady, meanwhile, also told the program he regretted telling fans to get “lubed up” ahead of Patriot games.

“I won’t joke like that anymore,” the teetotaler said. “That wasn’t the best thing for me to say and I won’t say anything like that again.”
