The event will be held Saturday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m. ET at the C.E. Gaines Center on the Winston-Salem State University campus as part of the school’s Homecoming Weekend.  Saturday’s event will be the first all-star game hosted by Chris Paul, the three-time recipient of the NBA Community Assist Award, and his parents’ alma mater is a great venue for the occasion.

“The passion that people have here in supporting the community and local sports was invaluable growing up,” said the New Orleans Hornets point guard and West Forsyth alumnus, “and I look forward to welcoming my friends on the court and hosting a blowout evening of basketball in the city.”
In addition to the New Orleans Hornets standout point guard, NBA stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and John Wall of the Washington Wizards are also scheduled to participate in the event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the CP3 Foundation which focuses on enriching the communities of Paul’s hometown of Winston-Salem and New Orleans.

About the CP3 Foundation:
Chris Paul, point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, has proven himself time and again both on and off the court. His dedication to his community began long before he became an NBA All-Star. In 2005, Chris and his family established the CP3 Foundation in honor of his late grandfather. The CP3 Foundation was founded to highlight his dedication both to his grandfather’s spirit and focuses on enriching the communities of Winston-Salem and New Orleans.
