Lady GaGa, Born This Way Special Cover
Lady GaGa’s second studio album has sold over 5 million copies in four months.

The singer’s recent LP Born This Way has managed to shift 5.01 million copies since its release in May.

Just over 2 million were purchased in the album’s first week on sale, while 507,000 were bought the week after.

GaGa passed the milestone during the third week of September when Born This Way was the ninth best-selling album in the world over those seven days, moving 71,800.

It has taken GaGa just 18 weeks to manage the sales feat, which takes her total combined worldwide sales of all albums and repackages to approximately 16.7 million.

It is expected that the 25-year-old will finish 2011 with the second best-selling album of the year, following Adele’s 21, which is predicted to sell over 13 million copies by Christmas.
