If you don’t pick up after yourself, you risk getting grounded — or even arrested.

Luis Perez was booked on disorderly conduct charges after his mother called police because the 18-year-old refused to clean up a mess he allegedly made in their Stamford, Conn. home.

Perez’s 54-year-old mother alerted authorities after she returned from work on Oct. 2, claiming her son started swearing at her when she confronted him about his cleanliness, investigators told the Stamford Advocate.

When officers arrived at the residence, they say they found Perez in his bedroom, under the blanket, not wearing pants.

The suspect allegedly refused to put on his pants and insisted police were invading his privacy, officials told the Advocate.

Perez told officers that “he has rights,” Sgt. Simon Blanc told UPI.

He continued to berate his mother, who said she feared her son and wanted Perez out of the house.

The suspect was then taken into custody and ordered held on $5,000 bond.

Requests for more information from Stamford Police were not immediately returned.
