Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is being credited with “saving” The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem New York, with a charitable donation that will help the organization’s operational budget.
The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem announced that Diddy gave a “remarkable” donation to the organization that helps mentor and guide young people in the community, regardless of their circumstances.
The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, New York, was facing budgetary constraints due to shifts in federal, state and private funding.
According to Willie C. Bentley, Jr., Board Member and Resource Development Chair of The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, Combs’ donation came at exactly the right time.
“Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and/or club sites,” Willie C. Bentley Jr. told AllHipHop.com. “One hundred percent of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs grew up in Harlem, and has often credited the local community with influencing his artistic vision.
