State police said officers found the bodies of Amy and Sam Friedlander and their children, Molly, 10, and Gregory, 8, at 3:40 p.m. when they came to their Cross River home to check on the family.

The Friedlanders were getting divorced and had placed their house on the market, sources told WABC-TV. No reports of domestic violence had been logged by local police, the station reported.

It was a tragic end for the couple that seemed destined for great things following their wedding in May 2000 at the Philadelphia Four Seasons Hotel.

The former Amy Jo Perez, 46, is a Cornell and University of Pennsylvania-educated banker who once worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in Manhattan, according to a wedding notice in The New York Times.

Sam Friedlander, 50, was a lawyer who graduated magna cum laude from Western New England College.
