Diann Ford was returning from her job at Long John Silver’s late on Tuesday when she was hit by the car.
Diann, who was 37 weeks pregnant, was taken to an Austin hospital that night,

She gave birth by cesarean section on Wednesday, and the girl was taken to the hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit. The 22-year-old died the next day.

Her boss Kris Jaccard said she was excited about her future as a mother. she knew she was having a girl and had picked out a name.
He described Ford as a model employee who always showed up for work on time.
She had started at the restaurant about six months ago as a cashier.

‘She was a very friendly, very nice, very caring person,’ Mr Jaccard told the San Antonio Express-News.
Police are still trying to find the driver of the car.
The police report said that she was crossing the road at night where there wasn’t a cross walk and she was wearing dark-coloured clothing.
After a car struck her and the driver fled, Ford was found by a passing motorist. She was conscious when emergency responders arrived at the scene.
