On a promotion tour for her new book the Kardashian family matriarch told Johnjay and Rich’s radio show that her daughter paid for the wedding entirely herself, didn’t profit off the extravaganza and actually spent “millions” of her own dollars footing the bill.

“The one thing that is the most annoying is the rumor that she made millions off of this wedding and she didn’t make a dime and actually spent millions of dollars on the wedding so it’s not something that she thought would ever not be happily ever after,” Kris said about the reports that Kim earned $18 million for the event.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kardashian and Humphries, a free agent during the NBA lockout, tied the knot in a lavish wedding with stars like Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan among the 400 guests in attendance. The TV special chronicling the nuptials, E!’s Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, aired last month to huge ratings, averaging 4.4 and 2.7 million viewers, respectively, on consecutive nights.

Kris said she was proud of her daughter for filing for divorce after such a short time. “Kim had to make very difficult, grown-up decision. She needed to do that on her own,” she said. “She’s not a 5-year-old girl, she’s a 30–year-old woman (oops Kim is 31) and right now Kim needs support from her mom today.”

As for the thousands of dollars of wedding gifts the lucky couple received, despite etiquette experts’ advice, it doesn’t seem like Kim is going to be giving them back to the original donors.

“I’m sure Kim will make a ginormous donation as she does all the time anyway very quietly to a wonderful deserving charity or a children’s hospital,” Kris said.

Kris said she wished Kim had gone to counseling to try and work out the problems in her marriage. “I met and married Bruce in 5 months and it is 20 years later and we’re still going strong and I think that obviously I feel that way about marriage because it has it’s ups and downs.”

Kim’s mom said frankly that her daughter made her decision “on what her feelings were. She’s not the first person in the world to get a divorce, and she won’t be the last. She just happens to be a very public person with a couple of television shows on the air so it makes it bigger than life.”
