A bottle of vodka is one way to make it through nearly two hours of the Smurfs. A San Francisco mother has been accused of chugging one too many shots of vodka while at the Smurfs movie with her 4-year-old daughter.

According to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, 41-year-old Sarah Boushey was so drunk after seeing the movie, where she allegedly pounded a half-bottle of vodka, that she couldn’t even remember her name when officers pulled her over.

But Boushey’s young daughter, while not old enough to drink, is apparently old enough to know when mom is acting strange. Fortunately, the girl was able to fill in the blanks for police, telling them her mother’s name and bluntly saying “she’s drunk.”

Boushey, who dodged her court appearance today, allegedly sideswiped two cars and hit a median as she left the Century 20 Theatre in Daly City this summer. Witnesses say she was incoherent, and police claim she had a blood alcohol content of .35 — more than three times the legal limit.

When police investigated further, they found a half-empty bottle of vodka in her purse.

“I’m not a big fan of the Smurfs, but not enough to drink like that,” District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe told SF Weekly.

“The worst part is that a 4-year-old would know what being drunk is — she knew mommy was drunk and that just tells you that mommy is drunk around her a lot,” he added.

Meanwhile, a San Mateo County judge issued a warrant for Boushey’s arrest after she failed to show up to court today.
