The only Lincoln model reporting better sales this November than last is the MKX crossover SUV, Lincoln’s version of the Ford Edge. Edge sales were down 13.1%.

Within Ford-brand car sales, buyers seemed to be moving to larger models. The compact Focus was down 9.9%, while the midsize Fusion was up 12.5% and the fullsize Taurus was up 17.4%.

The recently redesigned Fiesta subcompact edged a little higher, up 2.3%.

Ford’s small Escape SUV, about to be replaced with a new design, was up 46.1%. “Clearly Ford is in sell-down mode for the outgoing rendition of the Escape, averaging $3,451 in incentives per vehicle sold,” says Edmunds.com senior analyst Jessica Caldwell. “That’s a 21% gain from last month, and a huge dollar amount relative to the vehicle’s price point.”

And the big Explorer crossover SUV more than tripled last year’s sales, despite a sour review by Consumer Reports and a tie for last place in the Cars.com/USA TODAY/MotorWeek SUV Shooout.
