A person is being questioned by police but is not under arrest, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported. The incident happened before 9 a.m. on 38th Street and 23rd Avenue.

Neighbors believe they were gunned down by the mother’s ex-husband following an argument with her current boyfriend.

“I heard sounds that sounded like gunshots, like bang, bang, bang,” neighbor Tristan DeFalco told CBS 2′s John Slattery.

One man, who lives across the street, said he looked out the window and saw a flash from a gun barrel.

“I saw, I saw the shot fired and he walked away and the lady was lying in the doorway,” Chris Bowyer said

“I heard a fight. I heard two men fighting outside,” neighbor Roseanne Dandrade added.

Neighbors said not only was the mother divorced, but she had an order of protection against the ex-husband, Guerino Annarumma.

“She had called the cops a couple of times, but he’d been coming quite a lot recently,” Dandrade said.

For the past year, the ex-husband kept an online blog on which he wrote, “… she doesn’t have no respect. She will think only about herself to get a green card” and “… what ever you did you and your mother ’till I die I’m never going to stop you destroyed my dream, I will destroy you mentally.”

“This guy’s been coming back and forth for the last two years since they were divorced,” DeFalco said.

One woman was shot three times, including once in the head. The other woman was shot one time, in the head. They were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where they are listed in extremely critical condition. The mother is reportedly in her 60s, and the daughter in her 20s.

“It’s a very quiet area,” neighbor Luz Martinez told Slattery. “It’s a shock, really.”
