While the Lakers are expected to move aggressively to make a deal for Dwight Howard, the Bulls also will engage in trade talks with the Magic for the star big man, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Bulls “can build a package around cap relief, young talent and attractive draft picks,” according to The Tribune.

The Bulls would probably be willing to offer anyone on their roster for Howard, except NBA MVP Derrick Rose, ESPN.com notes.

Chicago, however, is not among Howard’s known desired destinations. He has been reported to prefer either the Lakers or Nets. Nonetheless, Magic GM Otis Smith said the organization will explore trades with all 29 others teams.

But a confidante of Howard’s who spoke with The Tribune doubts Howard will sign a long-term extension with a team other than the Lakers or Nets.

It’s unlikely the Bulls would part with Joakim Noah—who the Magic would almost certainly demand—without a guarantee that Howard would stay beyond this season.
