Talk show queen and self made billionaire Oprah has been a philanthropist for many, many years now. She’s taken numerous trips to Haiti (amongst many other countries) to help people affected by the major earthquake of 2010 and she documents her trips to show she’s really there to help. Kim recently took a trip over to Haiti as well, but has since been blasted for allegedly sleeping in a luxurious hotel, dressing fancily as she met with locals and even treating herself to a shopping spree. Doesn’t seem like she really did much of anything to help! Oprah has since blasted Kim’s efforts, and Kim herself even spoke out about the “rumors” the trip was just for good press. Oprah was also in Haiti as a guest of Sean Penn, who runs an organization dedicated to helping people effected by the 2010 earthquake. Oprah captured her trip for her OWN network, where she and Penn discussed the real situation in the country, as the second anniversary is approaching.
Oprah slammed Kim’s trip as just a “publicity stunt” to deflect attention from her failed marriage to Chris Humphries. Sources have claimed Kim treated her trip like a vacation, being pampered, attending fashion shows and being mean to the locals.
Kim was disappointed when she returned to the states to hear the news, and decided to pen a letter about her trip.
“While my experience was completely life-changing… a very emotional and surprisingly positive journey that I will never forget, some media outlets have tried to tarnish the motive behind my visit and have written completely ridiculous and untrue things. The National Enquirer wrote that I went to a fashion show in Haiti and spent a fortune pampering myself! The truth is that I was at the Haitian Artisan Fair, where the amazing men and women who make their jewelry and crafts sell them to visitors to make a living, and I bought some beautiful jewelry!!”
Really oprah…………………………………………..maybe u were over there trying to get more episodes for ur failing “OWN”!

Really disappointed that Oprah (who continously encourages people to do their part) would question someone elses motives for wanting to educate themselves about important affairs. Whatever Kim Kardashian chooses to do with her time post divorce is her business and does not deserve to be scrutinized for it… Seriously give the girl a break

I couldn’t agree more with Oprah, I wish Kim and her entire family would fade away…again people she is famous because of a sex tape…stop giving her more credit than she is worth. I hope Kris is happy he left this fame monster behind.
