50 Cent a lot of success with his latest mixtape, The Big 10, and is now calling on Jimmy Iovine and Interscope Records to renegotiate his record deal. His record deal is up after he releases his fifth album. Fif took to his Twitter account to express his feeling and said that if they don’t act soon he’ll be releasing another free mixtape! 50 Cent is using his online clout to get what he wants. After the success of his latest mixtape and viral videos, the rap megastar is making threats, telling his label to move forward with his album or he’ll release more free music.
The video for “Put Ya Hands Up,†a cut off 50’s mixtape The Big 10, has racked up 3.2 million views in four days. In response to its popularity, 50 delivered an ultimatum to Jimmy Iovine, the CEO of his label Interscope Records.
“I got 3,500,000 views in 3 day on hands up. Ok I need a record deal jimmy iovine , call me early tomorrow or I’m putting out another mix tape,†threatened 50, adding, “Anybody want to sign me I’m a young hungry artist and I work harder then everybody in hiphop call me tomorrow.â€
This is not the first time 50 has publicly called out his label on Twitter. In a recent tweet, he chastised Interscope for prematurely announcing a release date for his single, “Girls Go Wild†featuring Jeremih. He is reportedly not happy with the way his upcoming album has been promoted.
The G-Unit mogul is in the process of renegotiating with his label to renew his contract. His deal with Interscope is set to expire with his fifth album.
Yo, i think as the great artist with the success that he has is in a great position 2 make moves with or without his label. HowEver, wut ive seen in 50 is a lot of sensitivity and cry outs when he wants things his way. But i see other things as well. Dude has very good promo skills, which allows him 2 be able 2 do the job that the label is suppose 2 be doing.. So i guess my ? Is, wihy isnt he using what he has SKILLS 2 may create his own power label? i mean yeah, he has g unit but im talkin bout where he has the control like ole jimmy does. Or is all this just a part of the marketing stragity? Dude be on twitter all the time, he sees a lot of talent who have potietial, amd are showing that they 2 are hungry. Some who are tryin hard 2 make it out of the lower level of this game of life. But u cant see others greatness when ur 2 stuck on ur self. So if he reads this, I hope he sees where im comin from. I see the play, and i aint mad at em cuz as an great artist who was NOTICED by another opened the door 4 him.
50 uses blackout mode to put people in shock. He doesn’t do it cause he’s mad. “Get the ball rollin’, or it’s gonna role over you.”. He still hot. Even if the music wasn’t at a time. 3.5 millon in 4 days shows that people still are intrested in his “brand”. What record company wouldn’t sign him? They promote Puff, and Dre who’s been BS’ing with headphones instead of dropin music.
