Apparently Rob Ryan hasn’t learned from his brother Rex’s mistake, to keep his mouth shut.  He went all in for the big showdown of the Giants v. Cowboys on Sunday.  Check what he had to say after the jump.

To Dallas’ defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, the Cowboys are still America’s Team. And in Sunday’s NFC East-deciding clash with the Giants at MetLife Stadium, they hope to prove it.

“This is my first year with the Cowboys and I came here because this is the team, this is America’s Team,” Ryan said Friday. “That’s why I came here. I came to come to the best. I want to be the one that everybody wants to be a part of.”

Ryan said his family had already flown to New York, and he expects to show them a winning formula against the Giants, who are 2-0 against the Ryan family this season.

“They’re going down there to watch me become a champion again,” Ryan said, doing his best impression of blustery brother Rex Ryan. “That’s what they’re there for, all of them. Hell, it’s a costly endeavor, but I want them to be there when we win the East, and I’ll probably steal a couple T-shirts and make sure they get them. Because that’s what we’re there for.

“If it doesn’t work out, I’ll be pissed off because everything we got is in this one.”

The rest of the Cowboys preferred to keep quiet. Head coach Jason Garrett professed that he wasn’t “really concerned about that mantle” of America’s Team, and wideout Miles Austin said he couldn’t decide such matters.

But Ryan met Tuck head on, even if the coach didn’t use any of the expletives he’d used earlier this season. Much as Cowboys sack artist DeMarcus Ware did a few weeks ago, Ryan subtly suggested that Tuck was “envious” of the Cowboys. Then, he added that the Dallas atmosphere is truly special.

“Every game in Dallas is big,” Ryan said. “Hell, that’s why it is. That’s why you come to a great place like this. And every game is nationally televised. You want to be the best, you’ve got to be the best on the big stage. So I think it is (America’s Team.)”

Ryan only hopes his defense can back him up against a potent Giants offense and dangerous tailback Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs ran for 101 yards in the Giants’ Week 14 win over the Cowboys, and last week, he ran his mouth at Rex Ryan after the Giants toppled the Jets.

Ryan admitted he has gotten into fights for Rex before, but he made no rash comments toward Jacobs. Instead, he insisted that the Rex-Jacobs battle was over.

“Hell, this is a championship game, guys,” Ryan said. “You think that kid is losing any sleep over that incident? Hell, no, he’s looking to take on us, trying to beat us.”

Ryan just hopes his more simplified defense since the loss to the Giants in Dallas can keep Jacobs in check.

“We were embarrassed last time,” he said. “We hurt our team. We don’t like to do that.

“I know one thing, we’re going to play our ass off,” he added. “So whatever that’s going to be, it is.”
