10. Amber Rose and Funk Flex Exchange Words on Twitter After Amber Calls Him an Asshole on Hot 97
Amber Rose appeared on Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg’s morning show on Hot 97 in September and amongst other things, had some choice words for our very own Funk Flex. Back when Kanye West took over the station in November of 2010, Flex and Ye kind of tore Amber down a bit, so she isn’t exactly his biggest fan. Flex reached out to her on Twitter after hearing the interview, and Amber replied. “@DarealAmberRose would love to have you on inflexwetrust.com and hot97. it’s me mr. A__H___” Flex tweeted to Amber. She replied saying how highly Cipha Sounds had spoke of him and how she’d
love to come and speak to u face to face if we can sit down a have a rational conversation. Hopefully we can both apologize and get past our lil beef.” She’s yet to come up, but it can definitely happen in 2012!

9. Alec Baldwin & His Daughter Catch Heat Over Writing Out “Niggas in Paris” Without Censoring It
First let me start out this piece by saying, I am not black. I understand the negative connotation this word carries and I also understand that I’m not going to feel the same pain a black person can feel when they hear that word because neither myself nor my ancestors dealt with what they did. I get that and I fully agree with CERTAIN reactions. Something like the story I’m about to share, however….I feel it is RIDICULOUS. People use the term “racist” WAY too freely these days. Alec Baldwin’s daughter went on Twitter earlier this fall and professed her love for Jay and Kanye’s song, “N*ggas In Paris,” but instead of the little star I kindly inserted in place of the “i” (thus censoring the word,) Ireland wrote it out. Her dad quickly RT’d to attempt to clear it up (I don’t think he realized it was a song name at first) and wrote, “think this is reference 2 a celebration of hip-hop music in France. Just clearin’ that up.” (LOL….gotta laugh at that one). His daughter immediately started catching flack from both her and her father’s followers, with the term “racist” filling up her @ replies.

Ireland got frustrated and stated how crazy it was that people are calling her racist and it was never meant to be negative. “Everyone gets it. Don’t worry. Thankfully, your generation has defused the hate that word carried. Miss you!!” her dad tweeted to her. He makes quite a valid point. However, the two must realize not EVERYONE is over the word and while it may have defused SOME of the negative connotation…the history still remains. Eventually Alec got a little frustrated himself and started to make a statement toward the people calling him a racist, something he’s far from. “I love that song NIGGAS IN PARIS!!! I love Kanye!! I love @IrelandBBaldwin most of all!!!” he proclaimed. “Anyone who thinks that quoting the title of that song is racist is a disgrace. To the human race,” he then added. And while that’s a little dramatic…I have to agree with what he meant. How is that in fact RACIST? Did SHE name the song or did Jay and Kanye? OFFENSIVE that she didn’t censor it? Yes, that I will give to you (although I don’t 100% agree with that either but I won’t debate that right now). But racist? In no way, shape or form. In fact, the “white girl” is giving PROPS to music done by two African-Americans, so how folks…how is that RACIST? Alec then made one of the best statements I’ve ever read. “I don’t assume anyone is racist. I give them the benefit of the doubt. Anything else is racist.” THIS couldn’t be more truth! If you weren’t making assumptions about another race (whether it black, white, Asian, Indian, whatever!), then you wouldn’t assume they were automatically racist. Racism doesn’t only exist in white people against black people you know. And it doesn’t make it right, no matter WHO is doing it.

I say all that to say…in Ireland not censoring the word, it was rather poor judgement. It is an offensive word at the end of the day, but she was merely quoting a song, of which it is in fact the title. Simple mistake, simple fix. To call her racist is just…ridiculous.

8. Did Joe Budden Get Engaged??? Nope…& Now They Hate Eachother
Joe Budden has always had a history of dealing with some fly women. He dated then-unknown Tahiry for 5 years, and their relationship ended in 2009. He quickly bounced back with a brief fling with Love & Hip-Hop star Somaya Reece (and I stress the words BRIEF and FLING! LOL), and he then found himself in a one year relationship with model Esther Baxter. We ALL know that story didn’t end well (OLS3 anyone?) and he was soon “single Joe” for the first time in a very long time, obviously. Rumors were swirling that he was now dating video vixen Yaris Sanchez. But according to Tahiry this day, he was singing a different tune. “@joebudden just popping up on my front door and asked me to marry him!!! wth is going on?!?!?” she shared with all of Twitter. “where r the fucking cameras?! what is this nigga up to?!” It appears Joey had spontaneously proposed to his ex…but apparently things didn’t go very well. A couple days later, a war of words ensued between the two after Joe took to his Twitter to say he never proposed to her. Obviously she didn’t appreciate the lie, and the sparring began. They’ve since buried the hatchet (again) and have been hanging together quite often.

7. Joe Budden & Trey Songz Exchange Tweets Over Yaris Sanchez
One September night on Twitter ended up being quite amusing. One of our IFWT favorites Yaris Sanchez tweeted a nice pic of herself, and singer Trey Songz, whose video “Bottoms Up” Yaris appeared in 2010, replied with one simple word, “phenomenal.” This apparently set Joe off (jokingly) and a hilarious exchange ensued. It was all friendly, however, and Joe later stopped by Trey Songz’ video set in Miami the following month.

6. Kim Kardashian Pays Tribute To Tupac
In random people paying tribute to a fallen rapper, Kim Kardashian took to Twitter on the anniversary of Pac’s death to show her love for him. Yes folks…you heard me properly. Never know what you’re going to get with this girl, huh? LOL! “Do u wanna ride or die? La da da da da da da daaaaa” she first tweeted, followed by a barrage of other various (yet generic) Tupac lyrics. A fan is a fan, I guess!

5. Lindsay Lohan Makes A Pass At Chris Brown
Lindsay has had a troubled past couple of years but it looks like she’s looking for a different kind of trouble now! Karreuche, you better check her! LOL! While watching the VMA’s this year, Linds was apparently so moved by his performance she got a little bold with him on Twitter. “@chrisbrown killed it #MTVvmas” she first wrote, likely hoping he’d respond. A couple tweets later with no reply she tries again. “@chrisbrown wanna meet?” Breezy never did reply. LOL!!!

4. Hacked or Just Getting Bold?! Amber Rose Goes IN On Kanye West on Twitter!!
Amber allegedly got hacked the day before the VMA’s and quickly deleted the tweets and wrote, “OMG! Someone Hacked my twitter!!! Changing password now Sorry Rosebuds.” A couple days later, a craaaazy tweet was sent from her account…via Ubersocial for Blackberry…the app Amber always uses to tweet. “Congrats to @thegame for having the number 1 album…Watch the Throne is wack as Kanye West’s dick anyway,” the tweet read. Of course she eventually chocked that up to a hack too but who really knows!

3. Wale Goes At Rosa Acosta On Twitter
It was all good just a tweet ago! LOL! Over the summer, model (and IFWT favorite!) Rosa Acosta hosted the Philly stop of Heineken’s Red Star Access concerts. The event featured a performance from Wale and both had been tweeting their excitement about the night prior to. Even while there, Rosa tweeted, “Heineken #RedStarAccess Event w/ @djsmokephilly @djalamonj @dynastyseries can’t wait for @Wale to perform.” Apparently while the MMG emcee took the stage, he ran into a few security issues… “@Wale went into the crowd and some security had to save him #CreativeIdeaFail #RedStarAccess,” she wrote. Pretty harmless, right? Not according to Wale! Once he’d caught wind of that tweet, it was all downhill from there. He went in on the Dominican model, calling her all sorts of names and she brushed it off while making a few jabs of her own. He eventually apologized, and she sort of responded.

2. Ciara & Rihanna Go At It Over Ciara’s “Fashion Police” Comment
Rihanna took offense to Ciara’s commentary when the singer appeared on Joan Rivers’ E! Fashion Police, saying that Rihanna wasn’t so nice to her the last time she saw her. Within minutes, word got back to Rihanna, and she took to her Twitter to respond. “My bad Ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme,” she jabbed. Obviously this didn’t go over well with Ciara, who just as quickly responded with, “Trust me Rhianna, you don’t want to see me on or off the stage.” A war of words ensued, but ended just as quickly as it started with both ladies peacing it up.

1. Rihanna Responds to Royce Da 5’9′s Shoutout From His BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher
The Shady 2.0 crew had easily the best freestyle on the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards cyphers, because not only were the lyrics INSANE…but they were also quite comical! Royce used the opportunity to make some advances toward Rihanna, who’d previously said she liked the Detroit emcee’s music. “Hi Rihanna,” Royce rapped multiple times in his 16 bar cypher…and soon the two words became a worldwide trending topic. 24 hours later….the object of Royce’s affection responded. A simple “Hi @RoyceDa59” set the Twitter world on fire, and YOU guys loved this one the most!
