The Hyundai press conference at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show turn up the heat at this years show with some good hearted sibling rivalry between its sexiest new products – the Veloster Turbo and Genesis.

The redesigned Genesis enrolled its younger brother the Veloster Turbo in some serious horsepower homework so that it can race to the top against its biggest competitors – the Volkswagen GTI, Honda Civic Si and Mini Cooper/Clubman S. Genesis hard work paid off giving the Veloster Turbo a better power-to-weight ratio than all of them – which is impressive considering it small 1.6-liter displacement.
