Last month, word emerged that former (not by choice) NFL receiver Terrell Owens is considering a lucrative (by arena football standards) offer from the Allen (Texas) Wranglers of the IFL.  After Saturday’s game-winning catch from 49ers tight end Vernon Davis conjured memories of T.O.’s epic postseason touchdown reception from 13 years earlier in nearly the same spot of the same end zone, we decided to roll up the sleeves, put on the fedora with the “press” card sticking out of it, and track down an update.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, discussion between the Wranglers and Owens continue, and a decision is expected within the next week or so.

It could be that Owens wants to be completely sure that no one will need him for the conference title games or the Super Bowl before making the commitment to the IFL team, which begins its season in late February.
