Bloomberg said neither he nor Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly were aware that it was being shown — and that once the city’s top cop found out, he put a stop to it.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne, the NYPD’s top spokesman, said the film “was never authorized by the NYPD” and was aired when officers at a counterterrorism training session in Brooklyn were filling out paperwork during downtime.

When news of the airing first surfaced about a year ago, police said it had been mistakenly screened a “couple of times.”

Browne said on Tuesday that police later learned that the film had been shown over a period of three months and that about 1,500 officers saw at least part of it “as they filled out paperwork or were on break from training.”
