A New York City mom won a trip to jail after she left her 5-year-old son alone while she went to gamble. Xiao Xu Wu, left her son alone in a hotel room while she went to gamble at the Mohegan Sun casino. Click below to find out more.
The 5-year-old called 911 because he didn’t know where his mom was, according to the report. Once he began chatting with a dispatcher, she determined that he was home alone in the hotel room.
Wu was found and arrested and the boy was put into Child Protective Services custody, ABC New York reported. She was arraigned on Wednesday and ordered to pay $150,000 bond.
She is due back in court on Feb 24.
She is also wanted on outstanding immigration charges and an arrest warrant in North Carolina, the Courant reported.
In a statement to the newspaper, the casino said, “Here at Mohegan Sun we do everything we can to provide the opportunity for all guests to act responsibly. When it comes to child care, we have multiple options available for guests including Kids Quest and Cyber Quest facilities. We have a no tolerance policy for things of this nature and are cooperating fully with all authorities on this matter.”
