The New York Giants lost tight end Travis Beckum to a torn ACL in the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVI.

Beckum was writhing in pain after quarterback Eli Manning threw an incomplete pass to running backAhmad Bradshaw on a first-and-10 at the Giants’ 31. Two trainers had to help Beckum off the field.

Beckum had five catches for 93 yards and one touchdown this season. Beckum is mostly used as a pass-catching tight end behind Jake Ballard and blocking tight end Bear Pascoe.

Beckum’s best play of the season was a 67-yard touchdown catch and run against Green Bay during a regular season loss. The Giants have lost several players to season-ending knee injuries, including cornerback Terrell Thomas and linebacker Jonathan Goff. Both defensive players suffered their injuries prior to the start of the regular season.
