In addition to being one of the league’s brightest young stars, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is an enthusiast of the romantic drama “The Notebook.”

At least that’s what Hollywood funny man Will Ferrell claimed Wednesday night when he introduced the visiting team for its showdown against the New Orleans Hornets.

Ferrell introduced both team’s lineups, but most of the ribbing was saved for the Bulls in New Orleans.

In addition to mocking Rose’s film fandom, Ferrell tossed out the following humorous jabs.

• “He still lives with his mother – Carlos Boozer.”

• “He’s a Scorpio and is a terrible dancer – Joakim Noah.”

• “He collects rare birds and has a pet dolphin named Chachi – Luol Deng.”

• “He once ate 20 hot dogs in an hour – Ronnie Brewer.”

Ferrell, who has been filming the movie “Dog Fight” in the New Orleans area since November, famously played fictional ABA star Jackie Moon in the movie, “Semi-Pro.”

After Wednesday’s 23-point win, the Bulls had no problems laughing off Ferrell’s joking ways.

“Honestly, I didn’t even hear what he said,” Deng said. “I didn’t even hear what he said. To be honest with you, running out, I was worried he might say something worse. Saying that, I was like, ‘All right, I got away with one.'”

“It was funny. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen Thibs smiling before a game. I told him, ‘Let’s be serious, man. Can’t be smiling out there.'”

Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis play South Carolina politicians with presidential aspirations running against each other for a seat in Congress.
