Miranda Lambert shared her concerns on Twitter about Chris Brown having a couple Grammy performances. The country star brought up Brown’s past and fired a few shots his way. Aren’t people tired of hearing other people talk about that “incident”? Such old news!! Anyways, check out what she said after the jump…
On Monday, the country superstar tweeted “Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl … Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”
“Gunpowder” is a reference to Lambert’s 2007 hit “Gunpowder and Lead.” The lyrics describe a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband when he gets out of jail. “His fist is big but my gun’s bigger. He’ll find out when I pull the trigger,” the narrator sings.
Lambert isn’t the only celebrity who questioned Brown’s presence on the show, but it was certainly the most outspoken.
“Modern Family” actor Eric Stonestreet posted, “Are Chris Brown’s mom and dad CBS and Grammy Brown?”
“Looks like all is forgiven (with) Chris Brown,” Sherri Shepherd tweeted. “That’s all I’ll say.”
“Chris Brown … (bites tongue) have we forgiven him?” singer Michelle Branch asked.
Chris has yet to respond to Miranda’s tweet.
The difference between God fearing people and make believers is that we realize people are not perfect, they are going to make mistakes and we forgive them and move forward and expect more from them. Miranda, I am sure your pass is perfect but thank God you don’t have a say so on any major committees! Build a bridge and get over it, really!
Ok people. There are so many other issues to be complaining about other than Chris Brown and Rihanna. No one is saying we are supposed to forget, but according to the Bible we are supposed to forgive. He is not the first and definitely not going to be the last male/and or female celebrity figure to be involved in domestic violence. Remember, there are some females out here doing the same it just isn’t made public. Though it was a very negative situation, it generated alot of positivity and reminded us that these things go on.
Everyone is entitled to get a second chance.
Consider this: Man and woman meet at work, establish a relationship and date for several years. One night they fight, unfortunately man beats woman, gets locked up, trial, etc. However, he is heavily reprimanded but not fired from his job (where they both continue to work; so yes, she must see him every day unless she quits). Man and woman pour themselves into their jobs. Eventually, a meeting is called to recognize ALL hard working employees and ALL employees receive awards and considerable monetary bonuses for their hard work and dedication. Should the man be excluded from receiving what his fellow co-workers have received? I think not! Of course, no one condones the man’s actions, but what makes his fellow employees even begin to think they have the right to be judge and jury. One course of action should not define a person, as we are ALL imperfect. Condemnation is applied if those actions become a habit.
Man eff shorty! Take ya country twang singing a** back to nashville get a hit, and lets move on. That man paid his debt, he still has to make a living! Im pretty sure, if people learned that youre promoting violence towards an abusier than that wouldn’t be right? Right? Get a eff’n life!
